01 · The challenge

What was broken, what was at stake

Most restaurant loyalty apps are glorified punch cards. Hooters wanted a brand-engagement app with loyalty points at the centre — but designed from day one for a future where the existing POS system could auto-award and redeem points without staff intervention.

02 · The approach

How we thought about it

Two design priorities. First, ship a complete consumer experience that makes sense standalone — locations, deals, specials, leaderboards and loyalty points. Second, architect the points system behind a plugin boundary so POS integration could be bolted on later without rewriting the app.

03 · What we built

The actual solution

Mobile app on iOS and Android with locations, deals, specials, voting for favourite waitresses, leaderboards, and manual loyalty-point entry. Points system built behind a clean plugin interface ready for a later POS integration phase.

04 · The results

What shipped, what changed

A brand-forward loyalty product that users would actually open between visits — engagement layer keeping the app active, points system ready for automated POS integration when the brand chose to pursue it.
